Svenmeier Speedometer display in the center console screen? Why? This is a dealbreaker for me.Ajla You guys thinking cops and city clerks are going to start impounding and suspending licenses of millionaires or powerful people for speeding are being quite naive.Sgeffe Satellite radio isn’t necessarily an option going forward either: witness Honda giving XM the heave-ho in their latest Camr.”ACCORD!”.Would be nice to see Volvo find a way to source and build it in South Carolina. Chris P Bacon China build is my dealbreaker.Availability of the new cooler is very low. Hopefully my order went through, as I have not yet received confirmation that it has been processed. Has anyone found a coolant that mixes happily with the Chrysler purple?Īs an aside, does it not occur to car companies that keeping an obviously defective part in production for 20 years does nothing for their rep? Seriously, they designed a whole car ffs, surely they could have been arsed enough to put their own aluminum oil filter/cooler in production? The failure rate on these is high enough to have spawned several aftermarket suppliers for the same bad product. This would not be an issue if the Chrysler dealer wasn't asking $50/jug for the OEM stuff. I see some coolants purporting to be useable in all models regardless of coolant, but the consequences of a screw-up can be dire, with the coolant basically turning into a jelly inside the motor. Unfortunately, it seems the OAT purple coolant used in this engine does not play well with some other coolants, including earlier orange HOAT coolants used in the same engine. Until it arrives, and until it warms up enough to do the job, I want to nurse it along, since it is more of a weepy leak than a gusher. I have ordered an all-metal Dorman unit to replace it and hopefully banish this particular demon (see what I did there) for good. The original (?) lasted a mere 90,000km, and the replacement I put in last year is already leaking. You'd think they would figure it out in a long-term test environment.Well, as much as I like my Pentastar, I will readily admit the oil cooler design is a piece of crap. I could see why Ford switched to a Cor-Guard P-OAT/Yellow but I agree, there's way too much switching going around. I replaced that entire bottle (due to the messed up threads) and it sealed perfectly. When I replaced the water pump and checked the rest of the cooling system, it looked fine. I worked on a friend's 03 Grand Am that had its original water pump last 200k+ miles on Dex-Cool and someone messed up the coolant bottle cap so it never sealed properly all those years. The silicates or whatever would always come out of suspension after a few years. I've owned Fords that used the old school green anti-freeze (the stuff you had to change more frequently), and Fords with their Gold (G-05 clone). The other EcoBoost Ford like Taurus SHO, Explorer, Fusion, Fusion Sport etc. The Transit with the brazed heater core was probably the only one I have heard officially via that TSB. I've rarely if ever heard of Dex-Cool/Ford Orange coolant leaks on the 2010-up Fords.
